Last week we were treated (someone must really love us!) to the chance to see one of our favorite TV personalities and icons face to face – Andy Cohen! The Commonwealth Club of California put on the event, allowing Andy to talk about his new book, “Most Talkative: Stories From the Front Lines of Pop Culture”. The man behind the oh-so-popular The Real Housewives series talked about everything from growing up in St. Louis, his 10 years at CBS News (and tricking Oprah Winfrey in an interview- subsequently almost being fired), the importance of internships to get where you want to be in the entertainment business, and more. We were lucky enough to be in the third row for the event, and Andy is just as charismatic, if not more, in person as he is on TV. He may joke around a lot, but we were most impressed with his tenacity. It may have been a hard climb to the top, but his true love for TV and pop culture is evident in everything he does and more importantly — he knows what viewers want.
We decided to pass on waiting in the endless line for book signatures (it looked like it would be at least 2 hours of a wait- too bad! really wanted to meet face to face and chat) but we are nonetheless very excited to dig into his book and so happy we got to see him speak in person. Way to go Andy, and thank you for never “shutting up.”
